About Edible Grove
An interactive database for growers who want to know how hot a pepper really is — and how to grow it.
Edible Grove catalogs pepper varieties with structured Scoville heat data, a visual comparison tool, and practical growing guides. Our goal is simple: make pepper heat easy to understand, compare, and grow.
How we source our data
Heat (Scoville) ranges are compiled from established public sources — including the Chile Pepper Institute, Wikipedia, PepperScale, and seed catalogs — and are shown as approximate ranges with the source noted on each variety page. Growing specifications come from reputable seed catalogs, and our growing guides draw on university agricultural-extension sources.
We fact-check our content and correct it when we find errors. Heat figures vary naturally between sources and growing conditions, so we present ranges rather than false precision. If you spot something that looks wrong, please tell us — we genuinely want to fix it.
Who's behind it
Edible Grove is an independent project built by pepper-growing enthusiasts. We're not a store — just gardeners who got tired of conflicting Scoville numbers scattered across the web, and wanted accurate, comparable heat data and growing know-how in one place.
