Fatalii (Capsicum chinense) is a cultivar developed in Central Africa from chili stock originally introduced from the Americas, and is notable for combining extreme heat with a pronounced citrus flavor profile — lemon and lime notes are distinct even in dried powder form. The elongated, thin-walled pods (6–9 cm long) ripen to yellow or orange and are ideal for drying, as well as for fresh use in hot sauces, salsas, and marinades where citrus and heat are both desired. Its thin walls and bright color make it a popular variety among hot sauce makers.
